Description

OPSIS was designed by Baraka Architects for the 5 Mimar 5 Breeze series. It takes its name from a word in Ancient Greek meaning “sight, appearance.” The design is based on this concept: a large circular opening in the center of a square body, extending the full depth of the block.

Thanks to its 10-centimeter depth, the opening is perceived not as a flat hole, but as a window. Light glides along the inner surface, creating a soft ring of shadow at the edges. When repeated on the wall, OPSIS does not block the view behind it; instead, it frames it by dividing it into circular segments.

Measuring 20×20×10 cm, OPSIS can be used for facade cladding, garden and terrace walls, and in passageways where privacy is desired without completely blocking the view. The raw cement surface offers a simple, architectural texture. It is handcrafted in our workshop in Istanbul.
