Patterned tile, also known as “carreaux de ciment”, a typical Mediterranean material obtained by pouring cement, marble powder, aggregate and pigment into molds and pressing with high pressure, which started in France in the 1850s, spread all over France. It spread all over the world from the Mediterranean region to North Africa and from there to the Far East. In the 1950s, mosaic and tile producers were unable to compete with industrial products such as ceramics, linoleum and granite, which were relatively faster and easier to produce. They were unable to produce patterned mosaic tiles in a very short time. They had to leave this region as a result of a forced defeat. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
